The Shaper Tool

If you use the Shaper Tool for creating new squares, lines, circles, etc., it’s worth having around. Simple and quick.

But if you add the power to combine and knockout parts of overlapping paths, it becomes a powerful path editing tool. And unlike the Pathfinder and Shape Builder tools, it can create “live” objects that remain editable in unique ways.

Some of what we’ll talk about includes:

  • Where and what is the Shaper Tool
  • How to create basic shapes quickly
  • Using the Shaper Tool to edit overlapping paths
  • How to edit a Shape Group
  • How is this different from the Pathfinder and Shape Builder Tools
  • What are the limitations of this tool
  • And more…probably

You can even use the Shaper Tool to edit paths created using other tools! It’s a handy tool to have in the toolbox.
