In the dark days before the Erasure Tool, we had to delete Anchors and rejoin with other Anchors and suffer a lot. We could also use Pathfinder to chop away until we got close to what we wanted, then fine tune the art.
But thanks to the Erasure Tool, we can just scrub a dub dub and the art goes away, creating the new anchors and lines for us automatically. We can even erase from several selected Paths at one time.
