What's Your Vector, Victor?

Epsiode

14 min 49 sec

The first time I tried to use Illustrator, I was so lost. I had no concept of the vector world and until I wrapped my head around vector vs the raster world that is Photoshop, I could barely type my name.

Once I understood how the anchors and lines worked, and the object-oriented way of building, a whole new world opened up for me.

In this class, you'll see with your own eyes the difference between raster and vector and the basic concepts that will make your journey into Illustrator all worthwhile.

Some of what we'll cover includes:

  • What’s the difference between Raster and Vector
  • What are anchors and how did they get there
  • Creating your first path
  • What is an open path vs. a closed path
  • Adding Fills and Strokes for even more fun
  • Editing Paths
  • The Benefits of this vector world

After watching this, some of you might slowly nod your head as you see why you had so much trouble with certain graphics in the past. Now that you know, let’s start creating stuff.
