Apply Color Controls in Adobe InDesign

These aren’t really “tools,” but they’re on the Toolbar, so I feel compelled to include them in this series.

And they’re really nice to have there, I must say.

Yes, you can do the EXACT same thing in other places in InDesign, but I find it’s handy to have the ability to select Fill and Stroke, last color used, last gradient used, none, and the default black stroke with no Fill all in one place, always visible, because I ALWAYS have my Toolbar up.

Take a look at what we’ll cover in this Episode:

  • How to target Fill controls
  • How to target Stroke controls
  • How to switch from Fill to Stroke, and back again
  • How to reset to default Fill and Stroke with a click
  • How to apply last color used
  • How to apply last gradient used
  • How to apply “none” Fill and Stroke
  • other things, I’m sure

One additional benefit of this Episode is that much of what you learn here can be applied to working with color in the Control, Swatches, and Properties Panels.
