Places

I’ve been lucky enough to travel around and see what I consider to be interesting things. A lot of the time I have a camera in hand and attempt to capture what I’m seeing. I share with you here some shots along the way. Some are shot with film, others digital. Some are shot with cameras and a lot of the time I just walk around with my iPhone. I shoot what I have.

Oops

This is fun. I’ve just dumped a bunch of shots that were “mistakes,” but I like them anyway. Maybe they are double exposures, or the first or last shots on a roll, but, for some reason, I like them. I’m not a hoarder. I have a lot of photos that are so bad they can’t even make it into the Oops Gallery. Enjoy.

Textures

Sometimes when I’m shooting something, I’ll zoom in, or out, and the whole subject changes. What was once a building is now just a repeating pattern of windows. What once looked like an auditorium is now just a pattern of chairs. I love finding textures as I photograph, and sometimes it’s just as simple as stepping closer to the subject before shooting.

People

Maybe it’s because of my early years as a photojournalist, but I like my photos unretouched. What you see is what you get. I don’t remove pimples or scars or distractions in the background. I do adjust tonal values of images, and I’ve been known to remove scratches created in the film development process. But the pictures are what the camera captured in a moment in time.
