Let's Try This Again!

We've broadcast Digiversity.tv LIVE for 15 Episodes on Adobe Behance, but now it's time to up our game a bit. We are now ALSO going to broadcast strait from Digiversity.tv. Welcome to the show.

Digiversity.tv LIVE is now … uh … LIVE!

Well, it already WAS live, and has been for 14 shows, but now it’s REALLY live. How do you make something more “live” than “live?” We are now streaming on our own site, Digiversity.tv, as well as Adobe’s Behance.

The idea of doing a live show was an afterthought, really. I was making Episodes for Digiversity.tv when I got a notification that someone was going live on Behance.

“Why aren’t we streaming live?” I asked Julia while leaning over the railing of the loft I called my office.

She looked at me for a moment, smiled, and shook her head in agreement. “Let’s do that!” she confirmed.

So we did.

I set up the studio for two people, Digiversity.tv LIVE set, while Julia figured out the tech side of the stream. It was a fun day in the office, to say the least. After some testing, we decided we were ready to promote our Premier Show: The Mystery of the Adobe Stock Vectors.

The Mytery of the Adobe Stock Vectors with Special Guest Brent Niemuth

We were happy people actually showed up and joined in the chat. What a great evening.

Some of the feedback we got from viewers, and people who TRIED to watch the show, was that they were confused about Behance and logging in and where to watch. We were promoting on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter, trying to drive people to Behance, but a lot of people wanted to watch the show on Digiversity.tv, not some other platform.

*head nodding in comprehension*

I get that. We ARE Digiversity.tv and we are already hosting a library of videos, so why aren’t we ALSO the platform for the live show.

*still nodding in comprehension*

*looking left and right thinking of a solution…still nodding in comprehension*

Fast forward to last week when we did a Digiversity.tv LIVE show via Behance AND Zoom.

The Zoom audience was for a specific group that wanted to have its members preregister. They had 114 registrants logged in there and we opened the door of the Behance theatre to whomever wanted to drop in. It was a great test of streaming to multiple channels simultaneously, as well as monitoring multiple chats for questions and comments.

Success! Now to make it work on our site!

Julia went into overdrive on this one, researching various platforms we could adapt.

As it stands, we have a solution that we’ll call “beta,” and we’re doing our first show on Thursday, April 4. April Fool’s Day might have been a good omen, but the fourth will have to do.

So how is this going out work?

We are going to stream on Behance AND from Digiversity.tv.

We will still be streaming on Behance, like we always have been, for members of that community. If you are logged into your Adobe account, you can participate in that conversation during the show. Behance users are more than welcome to help us keep it free by subscribing to our Behance channel.

So why also stream on Digiversity.tv? Because Behance has many limitations that we can’t get around. Having our own platform allows us to improve the viewer experience the way we want to. And once inside Digiversity.tv, you’ll be able to quickly view Episodes we might reference during the shows. There are more benefits on the drawing board that we’ll unveil when they are ready.

Another benefit of hosting the show on our site is that we can set up the links for the stream in advance, so you can just click and watch. With Behance, we can only give you the link to the livestream area, then you have to find the show.

There are two short-term limitations of our new interface. One is that we can only have 100 people in the chat at a time. The big limitation, however, is that we are limited to a 12-hour stream.  Really? This is 2022 people, and we can’t go longer than 12 hours? We’ll get that fixed soon, I’m sure, as well as the limitation on the number of concurrent chatters.

We hope you’ll join us for the Premier, the Debut, the Beta launch of Digiversity.tv LIVE, Episode 15. The show is Take Your Viewers to Work Day #4,  where you’ll get to watch Julia and me design, and create, a wrap for her mom’s car. Yeah. Really. We’ll be using a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop, and maybe more, to get the job done.

Is it That Time of Year Again? Another Adobe CC Upgrade?

So What's New in CC 2022?

Once again it's time to see what the Adobe Gods have given us in a new release of Creative Cloud, this time CC 2022. It's fun, frustrating, inspiring, and perplexing.

Connecting the Dots

There is no "I" in Digiversity.tv

You may have noticed our new Brand Identity by now, thanks to the creative genius of Mark Eimer. His logo design has been incorporated into almost all aspects of the new Digiversity.tv offering.
