If you use the Shaper Tool for creating new squares, lines, circles, etc., it’s worth having around. Simple and quick.
But if you add the power to combine and knockout parts of overlapping paths, it becomes a powerful path editing tool. And unlike the Pathfinder and Shape Builder tools, it can create “live” objects that remain editable in unique ways.
